Happy Mother’s Day Everyone!
My friend Dacia and I had a “Craft Weekend” – she wanted to make a skirt, and I wanted to try my hand at making a few baby items: I made my first pair of pants…but alas, I think they would only fit a preemie. But I learned a lot about baby pants!
I also attempted to make my first pairs of baby booties – these are “practice” and I am sending both my nephew Ari and niece Sasha their own pairs to try on….I am curious to see if they fit? This wonderful pattern was provided by a great blog, myhomespunthreads.blogspot.com/.
Here is a sneak preview:

Ari’s are 100% silk outsides, with 100% polka-dot cotton interiors, and cotton soles. I think the next pair I make should have matching button closure. Sasha’s are 100% cotton outsides, with 100% navy satin insides, and 100% cotton soles…with satin tie closure. They have already been machine-washed, so they are ready-to-wear.
More soon,
Aunt Jeni
P.S. If they don’t fit, at least I can put them in a lil box-frame, and maybe decorate their rooms with. I am still experimenting with the pattern.
UPDATE: May 27, 2009
The Booties fit! Sasha Jane wore here booties at her baby naming which took place on May 24th, 2009 – her 3 month birthday. Sasha wore a cute purple gingham jumper with matching bloomers. Though it was not planned this way, the booties just happened to match perfectly! Enjoy!
